Self-Portraits 34 weeks

If you thought I was too shy to post a belly shot or two, you were so wrong.

It’s just that my blog was broken and I didn’t have the energy or brain power to figure out how to fix it. Thank you, to the beautiful and talented Irish lassie, Leanne, for helping me push through and get the job done. Leanne is the one who designed this blog, you know. The girl is special. Thanks also to the wonderful friend to so many, Kimberly, for helping me out weeks ago on this. I was just too tired to take her lead and run with it.

Anyway, here I am NOT being shy. And that’s just about all I have the energy to give you right now. Back to sick four-year old. Mama is tired.

I’m guessing boy - look how “up front” you are! I know, I know, whatever that means.

You look GREAT - regardless of if it is a boy or girl!

  2. Margaret said:

I don’t know! But it’s definitely a baby in there!!

  3. Leanne said:

You look BEAUTIFUL! There’s nothing more glorious than a baby belly.

    xox

  4. ccap said:

I’m not guessing one way or another. I just say waaaaay less weight gained than I have and I’m a wee bit jealous.

  5. InterstellarLass said:

Beautiful is what you are! I’m sooo happy for you. And your belly is so smooth and pretty. *sigh* I got the stretch marks.

  6. aka_monty said:

We get to VOTE? AWESOME. I vote boy, just so you’ll have something different this time. :D And plus, he’ll be so cute. :)

  7. Sis said:

Lovely! I’m sorry that I can’t see that gorgeous belly in person. Last time I asked to see your pregnant belly you were just going into labor and weren’t too accommodating. As a result I decided to get my own belly. So I have a special fondness for your belly shots (whether I get to see them or not). I hope Hannah feels better soon!

  8. D said:

I can so totally picture your baby, curled up and head down, his (yes, I did say His, but don’t mind me…) little pearly spine right down the middle of your belly, his little knees and dimpled elbows all poking out and jumbly. It’s probably a delicate flower of a girl unfolding herself slooooowly but I can really really really almost just see that baby in your belly. You are blessed…

  9. Angie said:

That is one gorgeous baby belly!

I am going to say boy for no other reason than it would shake up your house and it will make great reading when you tell up about the girls discovering his different plumbing and boy habits and boy smells and what happened when the water turns on. ;)

  10. kenju said:

You and the girls need another boy in the house! But whatever it is, I wish you health - and a healthy, happy baby. Love the belly shots!

  11. Sleeping Mommy said:

I’ve never been good at guessing the sex. All I know is that he or she will surely be beautiful like their mama.

  12. Marie said:

Beautiful! I hope y’all get a boy to dote on… but of course 3 girls would be sweet too!

  13. Gail said:

Ahhhh, even your tummy glows when you are pregnant! I was just getting ready to email you, I’ve been wondering how you have been feeling. Sorry to hear Hannah is feeling under-the-weather.
No guesses here if it is a girl or boy. I looked the same with all of mine. Maybe someone with more experience being pregnant would know. Hmmm, who would have that sort of expertise?

  14. Jess said:

Awww, hope you are feeling well! I have no clue re: baby but I’m one of three girls and I love my “baby” sister to pieces, so I guess I vote girl? I know s/he will be treasured no matter what. :)

  15. Kimberly said:

You are too cute, woman. I was thinking of you after our email exchange last week and decided to dig up a picture of me looking like the COW I was when I was pregnant. That way you will see what a little slip of a girl you look like here in comparison. I will scan and email it to you soon as a gift for the new baby girl in your belly. (she will laugh and laugh…)

Oh, yes. It will be a girl.
    xo

  16. Miz S said:

What a beautiful expanse of belly. I don’t know whether it’s a boy or a girl but I’d say it’s not going to be very tiny.

  17. Jean-Luc Picard said:

It’s always wonderful for the mother-to-be to take shots of herself while pregnant, as she is in a very special condition that she can look back on later.

  18. Keri said:

    awesome!

  19. Kyla said:

    I think boy. Definitely boy.

    But then, I’m always wrong.

  20. Carmi said:

I always guess wrong, so I won’t even try :)

These are lovely shots. Someday, your soon-to-appear munchkin will see them and realize what a neat mommy he/she has.

  21. mbenditem@msn.com said:

No, TWO watermelons. Maybe three. But your derriere looks neat in that.

  22. Meegs said:

Aww, no guesses here… but your belly is tres cute! :-)

There is no ball in your beautiful belly, but a wondrous blessing about to grace your family in the most marvelous ways!!

Eat almonds, leafy greens and dark chocolate in the last few weeks of your expectancy to stave off anemia as the baby drains your iron.

From the Yoga Sutra: “Grace, beauty, strength, energy, and firmness adorn the body through Yoga.” Appreciate the miracle of pregnancy and birth!

Remember to touch your tongue to the roof of your mouth so that you won’t hyperventilate during heavy contractions. Use your yoga ujjayi breath to ride the waves of your contractions. Ask Hubby and/or your midwife to squeeze your hips during labor to take the edge off backache. Rock ala slow dance through contractions. Manage pain through rhythm, relaxation and ritual during your childbirth.

Read and re-read Isaiah 40:11: He shall feed his flock like a shepherd; he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Blessed Easter! Le Chaim! I have you in my thoughts and prayers, Sweet Raehan!

  24. Raehan said:

Well, Bonnie, I will pretend the Easter bunny brought me dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate and not try to read too much into the phrase “there is no ball” in your belly, though I did have a dream that it was a girl.

Thanks to all of you for all your kind thoughts.

And to CCAP, I am gaining the same 40 pounds I have with each pregnancy, except this time I started out heavier than before. So, don’t feel jealous.

  25. ccap said:

In response to your comment on my blog: Yes, the very good news is that my prenatal depression pretty much completely disappears a week after delivery… at least it did the first time.

  26. Artful Kisser said:

What a splendid belly. I vote for a girl. Good luck! And by the way, I think Leanne’s design is beautiful.

  27. amy said:

I’m LOVING these photographs… especially the one of you where you see your camera. Self shot. You and baby. LOVE IT.

Blessings to you—I’m holding good thoughts for you and the delivery.

As for gender… ten finger, ten toes, and preferably a penis. hee.

  36. Gail said:

Congratulations and blessings on you. You are in my thoughts, and hope to see baby pics, soon!

  37. Stephanie said:

You look super DUPER fabulous, my dear! I’ll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as you finish up the home stretch.

  38. buffi said:

BEAUTIFUL! Makes me almost jealous - except that the prospect of having a fourth baby makes me shudder. But I do remember the happiness of feeling that baby moving around in my belly.

    Hang in there!

(and this is how I carried my daughter, but I am TERRIBLE at predicting.)

  39. Keri said:

Wondering as I’m not twittering at the mo… How things are? Are you delivering? HAVE you delivered? Are you still waiting?

The photos are fabulous. And I hope you are well… Wishing you all the best…

  40. Raehan said:

Hi Keri. Still waiting, though I have a feeling by next week at this time I’ll have a baby. There are signs things are heading for an earlier-than-due-date birth. We’ll see.

Right now I’m trying to get things done. I still have so much to do.

And I’m anxious. Scared, actually. Will I ever be ready?

  41. K8spade said:

Who cares what it is, as long as it is healthy and happy! :-) I carried my daughter waaaaaay “out front”. People thought I was having a boy because of it. It’s an old wives’ tale.

Two weeks before she was born, there were signs I would have her *any second*. But it took 2 weeks. So don’t be nervous, it could be weeks yet. :-) Hang in there
